CHAMBER MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE!
Classical Revolution Calgary is live chamber music in the fun, informal setting of Café Koi in downtown Calgary. On the first Monday of each month, a collective of passionate musicians, both professionals and part-timers, unite for a hosted jam session, dispensing with fussy trappings and tails, and bringing chamber music to the people. It's a perfect evening for those new to classical music, for anyone ready to hear it in a new light, and for experienced classical musicians eager to reach an adventurous, engaged audience.

Ready to join the Revolution? Come to Café Koi around 8 pm, bring your instrument and/or any music you'd like to read, or just relax and have a drink and a bite to eat -- we're here to make chamber music, not war!

Double bassist Matt Heller joined the Calgary Philharmonic in 2007, after playing in the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida under Michael Tilson Thomas. He has performed chamber music on Calgary concert series such as Mountain View Connection, Instrumental Society of Calgary, Phil's Café, and Land's End Chamber Ensemble. He also teaches a few students and keeps up a pretty active yoga practice.

Violinist Donovan Seidle is a native Calgarian, associate concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic, and artistic director of the Kensington Sinfonia. He recently performed as soloist with the CPO, in music from the film The Red Violin.
Donovan has been a member of the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, the world's first collaborative symphony, and won accolades as Associate Music Director for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, which included many of his musical arrangements and original compositions.
